Hotel In Foreclosure To Shut Down, Forcing At Least 12 Families To Relocate On 24 Hours Notice Without Affordable Options

In Eureka, Missouri, KTVI-TV Channel 2 reports:

  • The America's Value Inn in Eureka is closing it's doors and the people who live there were told they have less than 24 hours to pack up and leave. Fox 2 stopped by the hotel to find out why.

  • It turns out the hotel is in foreclosure and those who rent rooms have no place to go. Wife and mother of 4 Melissa Cadotte says she's devastated because this was the only place her family could afford. They moved out of their apartment in June after having problems with mold.

  • "We got a phone call a couple of hours ago telling us that we had to hurry up and get our things and get out and we asked why and they said the bank is foreclosing and we all have to be out of the building by tonight." said Cadotte.

  • Renters also say workers lost their jobs and at least 12 families lived on the property.
